Description

We are Kirklees… Are you?

Kirklees Council is firmly focused on the future. Our vision is to create a district with a strong, sustainable economy that offers a great quality of life to its residents – leading to thriving communities, growing businesses and high prosperity.  We are a borough with enormous opportunity and boundless potential, and our housing provision is no different as we aim to become the best in class.

Homes and Neighbourhood services plays a critical role across the borough, supporting the lives of the residents of our c22,000 homes and dedicated to delivering the homes and environments our tenants deserve to achieve their best lives.  We are embarking on an ambitious period of improvement and transformation across our housing provision. We are investing in our service, safety, sustainability, and new affordable homes.  We need exceptional, innovative leaders to lead the council into the next phase of the borough’s transformation.

Working with the Regulator of Social Housing, we are looking for a senior housing professional to deliver our transformation programme and to manage a large workforce of c900 staff.  The foundations are in place and the momentum is building, and this is where you come in as our Service Director of Homes and Neighbourhoods to ensure this is maintained, and at pace.

This is a career-defining role - one that requires an experienced and senior housing professional, who understands social housing, to join us at a key point in Kirklees’ journey, delivering a vision where social housing empowers residents to be part of our borough’s ambitions for the future. We are looking for someone from either the social housing sector or local government, who is professionally curious, and a strong communicator who can engage with partners, stakeholders and tenants. We are seeking a values-driven individual who is passionate about our vision, who believes in the power of what we are trying to achieve.
