Description

Kirklees in West Yorkshire, is a place of ambition, compassion, and opportunity. Our vision is to ensure every child and young person grows up safe, supported, and inspired to thrive. We are proud of our communities and committed to delivering outstanding services that make a lasting difference.

As our new Service Director Commissioning, Quality and Health Partnerships, you will lead the strategic direction of children’s services, overseeing integrated commissioning across social care, SEND, and health provision. You will ensure high quality service delivery through robust quality assurance and performance frameworks and drive continuous improvement across the directorate.

This role is central to shaping multiagency universal family support, including family hubs and community-based services. You will lead the Kirklees Safeguarding Children Partnership and the wider Children and Young People Partnership, ensuring collaboration and shared accountability. Children’s voice will be embedded in strategic decision-making, and you will champion their needs across system leadership arrangements, including the new health landscape and provider collaboratives.

You will be responsible for aligning project resources to support key priorities and improvement activity, while also maximising external funding and investment opportunities for Kirklees children, young people, and families. A key part of your role will be horizon scanning and policy development, ensuring our services remain responsive, innovative, and future-focused.

We are looking for a visionary leader with deep expertise in children’s services, strong partnership skills, and a passion for making a difference. If you are ready to lead transformational change and help us deliver on our ambition, we want to hear from you.
