Description

We are Kirklees…are you?

Kirklees is firmly focused on the future. Our vision is to create a district with a strong, sustainable economy that offers a great quality of life to its residents – leading to thriving communities, growing businesses and high prosperity. Now is an exciting time of improvement and transformation for our housing provision, with an ambitious journey to invest in our service, safety, sustainability, alongside our need to build more affordable homes.

The Head of Assets and Development will provide inspirational and visionary leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, of both internal provision and contracted services, providing repairs and maintenance services, asset investment and management, building safety and compliance, and zero carbon initiatives. Facilitating greater coordinated working to deliver a best-in-class service. The role is responsible for developing and implementing relevant strategies, and working in partnership with our contractors to drive service improvement.

With extensive experience of building strong relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you will now be looking to progress your career in a strategic leadership role in an ambitious housing service, leading a large team. Your career to date will demonstrate considerable success in delivering continuous improvement to compliant repairs and asset management services, and experience of contract management would be valued. With people central to this role, experience of team development and pro-active tenant engagement will be essential.

Our new housing asset management strategy, adopted this month, is a vision for social housing in Kirklees that will establish and deliver resident-led, high quality housing services with and for our local community. To develop this strategy, we worked with local residents, elected Members, partners and our colleagues, embracing the Kirklees approach of ensuring that people are at the centre of everything we do.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join us and showcase your leadership, ambition and determination to deliver excellent housing services for the community we serve.  We are looking for someone who is professionally curious, a strong communicator who can engage with partners, stakeholders and tenants.
